Ahhh :D

Faures Pavane is one of my favorite songs. I was a little scared when I saw this in the trance section because its such a beautiful piece of classical music but I completely love what you did with it!

Sounds good.

You know, it sounds good, of course. Thats why its excelling. But to me, this isnt really what classical music is about. And i hate that newgrounds doesnt have more subgenres because to be honest with you, Im always dissapointed with the submissions in the classical section. I want to hear some classical music.

FlaggedOnArrival responds:

I completely agree with you on some points, but technically orchestral music is classical as well.

Goodness

What in the world is that solo instrument supposed to be around 1:00. It sounds absolutely awful lol. The songs nice, but it's 6 minutes long, and I begin losing insterest at like 2 minutes. However, I will sit through this entire thing for the sake of this review. I do like that you keep reintroducing the main melody, but theres not a whole lot of variation between each one. At 4, after that break, its niec and calm, and I like that transition. But its kind of boring, Its piano, and then that same solo instrument. Im gonna take a guess and say its a violin or some sort..? I think that with this length of a song it has to have some depth. It keeps going back to the piano solo, you have a whole orchestra to work with, switch it up a bit.

LynnKavki responds:

Thanks for the review, and I agree with everything you said xD And yeah, my violin sound got absolutely slaughtered. (although none of the sounds I have are very good to begin with) I think my worst fail in this one was dragging it on so long. I really appreciate critique though.

Hmmmm

When I hear piano solo's, I always expect something amazing. Theres a guy on here who mass produces piano solos, they all sound similar, they are all crap. This is much better than a mass produced song, especially near the end. You know I was actually going to write a really bad review until I heard that ending. Its catchy, its beauty, its amazing. But I dont care much for the beginning, especially not the first time. I feel like its repetitive, and I feel like I could be watching an allstate insurance commercial right now. It just feels repetitve, and its catchy, but its not the kind of catchy I want to hear in the classical section. However like I said, as the song progresses it gets better and better, and I really enjoy the piece nearer to the end.

CardboardowI responds:

I was most worried about it feeling repetitive because of the baseline intro, but I think that some people appreciate a slow start with this style of music.

And to tell the truth, this really isn't classical at all, i just didnt really know what to put it under, i generally like to write things for movies and games and such.

Then ending is my favorite too :D

Action Brass

I love the action brass songs. If this is actually Brian Sadler, i love all your music, especially the christmas stuff. Except the fact that you dont like to use horns in your christmas music :[ lol. Anyways, I really like this, but i think i prefer the original brass octet version.

Pretty

But at 1:03 on that roll, you should of added some more percussion. I mean you could of made a really really powerful statement and you could of done so much more with the percussion there. I think that the music is nice but i think that the percussion is really lacking :\ and i dont feel like it adds up to the intensity of the rest of the piece. But i do like this alot.

Rottenbeard responds:

I agree the percussion is lacking. I actually wanted that roll to be longer, and im pretty sure it WAS longer at some point and I think i ended up cutting it down by accident and then not noticing when going over the song in the mastering process. At any rate, i'm not too good with orchestral style percussion, it's something i'm picking up slowly, I don't do much music in this particular style so it's a new experience for me, I want to get better at it though. I'd love to get some of the more explosive orchestral setups you hear by guys such as Danny Elfman or Clint Mansell, or especially some of the stuff composed by the guys at ImmediateMusic.

Anyways, I appreciate the constructive feedback Lightningpichu, thanks!

Regards,
Daniel

Awesome

This reminds me alot of runescape. The style of it is alot like runescape music. I love this song though, its beautiful, and then it transforms into a more powerful composition. I love the title. Revenge of a broken heart, that descibes this song perfectly :P

Sci-Fi responds:

i love u too :) heh jk

Genius

That was awesome, and with only three trombones. I love it :D

pathock3 responds:

Glad you liked it!

Pretty Cool :P

I really like this, its like a march before the soldiers go off to war. Its just some parts dont feel like they arent loud enough or soft enough. Especially the trumpet entrance around 0:50. I just feel like its not brought out enough. But i love how its get more and more complex as ithe song progresses. I dont like the ending much, i just feel with the fanfarish style it has in the beggining the ending would be more dramatic.

Hmm..

This was a spur of the moment thing huh? It seems like there is absolutely no planning of any parts. there are some parts that sound cool but they also dont sounds intentional.

lvl5drummer responds:

yeah pretty much, a quick jolt of imagination. i'll see if i can come up and change any of the parts. you could PM me the parts where you'd like to see something different. that would be great.
